Online Training Features
Live, interactive presentations - Each course typically has six online video-based (live) presentations (one each week at a pre-scheduled time) and presented by Jim Geier. Presentations include lectures and demonstrations that satisfy learning objectives of the course. Students attend the presentations using a web browser on a computer located anywhere. Students can interact with each other and the instructor during the presentations.
Hands-on lab exercises - The instructor assigns weekly hands-on lab exercises that students accomplish on their own (with regular instructor interaction) using low-cost equipment and freely available test tools. Each exercise requires students to complete a series of actions and write a report. The instructor evaluates each report and provides regular feedback to the student.
Exams - Students complete weekly "open book" tests to ensure they're learning the course material. At the end of the course, students take a comprehensive end-of-course exam.
Course certificate - Each student receives a course certificate if they regularly participate in the online presentations and successfully complete all assignments (exercises) and exams.
Certification - All students who receive a course certificate are eligible to apply for a Wireless-Nets certification. The certification exam is "closed book" and taken at a test center arranged on a case-by-case basis.
